Toronto, ON March 10, 2004 – Device manufacturer Medex today announced the launch of a new subsidiary, Medex Canada. A medical device manufacturer with administrative and manufacturing facilities located around the world; Medex is planning significant growth in anaesthesia, adult and neonatal critical care, infection control and IV therapy markets throughout Canada.
This announcement follows the company’s acquisition last year of the worldwide vascular access business of Ethicon Endo-Surgery (a Johnson & Johnson company). Since the acquisition, Medex has focused on integrating existing products — syringe pumps, fluid and drug delivery devices, I.V. catheters and central venous catheters — into a complete infusion system.
“Although Medex has been in the Canadian market indirectly for some time, this is a wonderful opportunity for Medex to provide customers with a full product offering that will meet their needs,” says Kathy Bateman, country manager of Medex Canada.
