MDS Pharma Services appoints senior vice president, discovery and preclinical

Montreal, QC – March 5, 2004 – MDS Pharma Services, a provider of innovative drug discovery and development solutions, has named Robert Beland senior vice president, discovery and preclinical.

Beland will lead the pharmacology, metabolism resource, biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceutics and fermentation divisions of MDS Pharma Services’ Early Stage Development group. He will have complete operational accountability, overseeing a team of more than 500 employees working in five locations in North America and Taiwan. “

Robert brings more than 20 years of global general management experience to MDS Pharma Services, as well as expertise in operations, business development and scientific affairs. His arrival will further enhance our focus on satisfying our clients and helping them make better decisions faster,” said Gilbert Godin, group vice president, early stage development.

Before joining MDS Pharma Services, Beland worked at Arkopharma, RP Scherer and Jamieson Laboratories.
