Halifax, NS – The federal government has earmarked $15 million to help build Dalhousie University’s new Life Science Research Institute. The institute is one of seven centres of excellence in commercialization and research across the country that received a funding commitment in the budget.
The new funding adds to $195 million that is already available to the centres over the next two years. The $195 million will be allocated through competitive, peer review processes.
Dalhousie’s new institute requires matching funds to access the $15 million funding. With provincial and other funding commitments, however, the university says the matching contribution is attainable.
