Toronto, ON – Toronto’s academics and businesses are getting a $38-million boost from Ontario’s provincial government. The government is funding $15 million at the University of Toronto, $15 million at the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) and $8 million at MaRS.
The University of Toronto is advancing research in structural genomics – the study of human proteins to treat diseases such as cancer.
OCE is a leading driver of the research to commercialization process, with a strategic focus on improving Ontario’s competitiveness through innovation.
MaRS is building a closely connected commercialization community, bringing together research, capital and industry to improve the productivity of technology transfer, increase capital flow and grow the number of Canadian companies achieving global success.
