Vancouver, BC – BC’s provincial government is providing $30 million to the Terry Fox Foundation to fund the new Terry Fox Research Institute’s headquarters in Vancouver. The funding will support both the institute’s headquarters in the BC Cancer Agency’s building as well as research staff.
The recently announced institute is a virtual network linking cancer researchers across the country. Initially, it will have centres in Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton, and Calgary, along with the headquarters in Vancouver.
Projects will be team-based, milestone-driven and with potential to impact the health outcomes of cancer patients within three to five years.
