Bench-top spectrometer provides 80 MHz analysis

Bench-top instruments have historically been less powerful than their full-sized counterparts but technology advancements have enabled the development of compact, full-featured devices. Thermo Scientific’s new portable, lightweight spectrometer, the PicoSpin 80 NMR provides powerful bench-top analysis at 80 MHz. It has a magnet rated at 2 Tesla, which provides superior resolution of chemical and structural characteristics not available using lower magnetic field strengths. Plus, this temperature-controlled magnet does not require liquid cryogens. The device also has an easy-to-operate fluid capillary system that does not require NMR tubes or other consumables.
