Positively charged nylon membrane filter reduces

Endotoxins derived from bacteria typically have a negative charge in water. The positive zeta-potential of the positively charged Hydrofil dual 0.2 µm membrane filter cartridge from the Porvair Filtration Group, enables highly effective reduction of most of these endotoxins. Made from nylon 6,6, the dual membrane structure results in a significant increase in the absorption capacity of the filter. Suitable applications include GMP pharmaceutical grade water systems where endotoxin levels need to be kept below limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) detection limits and recirculation of parenteral products through endotoxin removal filters to allow batch release.
