Chromatic confocal microscope eliminates depth-of-field limitations

There are focusing limitations associated with depth-of-field in classical microscopy. STIL’s MC2 chromatic confocal microscope eliminates some of these issues by providing a depth-of-field of 100 µm (nanoview) or 500 µm (microview) and respective ONs of 0.75 and 0.5. It also reduces the diffraction limit by 30 per cent, and provides crosstalk reduction between two adjacent points. When using high-density pixel line CCD/CMOS, it is possible to obtain a lateral resolution to the surface of the object of 0.4 µm.
