$3 million supports mining and exploration research

St. John’s, NL – Newfoundland’s Research & Development Corporation (RDC) has renewed the GeoEXPLORE program, providing it with $3 million in funding for mineral and petroleum-related research and development projects over the next three years.

To date, RDC has invested $2.8 million in the mineral exploration, mining and petroleum sectors through the GeoEXPLORE program.

“RDC’s GeoEXPLORE program focuses investment in geoscience research to advance mineral and petroleum exploration and development. These sectors represent priority sectors for research and development in Newfoundland and Labrador. The renewal of GeoEXPLORE will support continued, focused R&D in industries which are critical for economic growth in the province,” said Glenn Janes, chief executive officer, RDC.
