CFI moves forward on major research infrastructure funding competition

Ottawa, ON – The Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) says it has approved the launch of a formal call for proposals, based on the allocation of $510 million to CFI in the federal government’s current budget.

This decision to move forward comes after an extensive pan-Canadian consultation process by the CFI that included client institutions, provinces, private-sector partners, and other funding organizations involved in Canada’s research and development enterprise. Based on these consultations, the CFI is finalizing the refinement of its current suite of funding programs to meet the evolving needs of its client institutions, in alignment with the federal government’s science and technology strategy.
