Toronto, ON – January 20, 2004 – Gamma-Dynacare Medical Laboratories today announced it has signed five-year agreements with both the Saskatoon and Regina-Qu’Appelle Regional Health Authorities to provide community laboratory services to the patients and physicians in those regions.
The two regional health authorities provide service to approximately 532,000 people, more than half the population of the province.
The copmany says it will be responsible for assisting in the purchase of supplies, as well as collection and transportation of community laboratory samples and distribution of reports within each region. It says it will rely heavily on existing skilled and trained employees from the two regions.
Gamma-Dynacare says it currently provides service to over 5.8 million patients each year in Ontario, Quebec and Nunavut, and employs over 1500 people at its specimen collection sites and four main laboratories in the two provinces. Each year it collects, transports and tests over 40 million lab samples.
