Kendro Laboratory Products acquires H+P Labortechnik

Asheville, NC – April 13, 2004 – Kendro Laboratory Products, a unit of SPX, says it has acquired German company H+P Labortechnik. H+P provides sterilizers, high performance stirrers, and biosafe waste water sterlizers for the pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, and medical markets. Its headquarters and production facilities are located near Munich, Germany.

"We have acquired H+P to provide Kendro with several new product lines, which we expect to introduce to the extensive Kendro worldwide sales channels," says Dennis M Pope, president of Kendro. "The acquisition also expands Kendro’s technology base which will enhance our ability to meet customer needs."

Dr Helmut Herz, founder of H+P, will continue in the new organization under the title of managing director. Mr Pope will become chairman of the H+P management board, joined by Dr Herz and Uwe Gernens, VP finance Kendro Europe.
