Vancouver, BC – Mar 31, 2004 – Gaseous fuel engine technology developer Westport Innovations says it has received $350,000 in funding from the National Research Council (NRC) Canada.
The funding will be used to support advanced technology development of the company’s hot surface ignition CNG direct injection technology, specifically for making fundamental enhancements to its advanced hot surface ignition, controls and injector technologies for light-duty applications. The company says it will collaborate with industry members in the development of these areas of the technology.
“We are pleased to promote and support Westport’s development of the CNG DI technology," says Daryl Wong, industrial technology advisor for NRC/IRAP Canada. "This collaborative effort encourages alternative fuel technologies, Canadian business, and generates exposure to the alternative fuel industry, a win for all sides.”
