Winnipeg, MB – The Canadian Society for Nutritional Sciences has awarded the 2008 Centrum Foundation New Scientist Award for Outstanding Research to Dr Mohammed Moghadasian, associate professor in human nutritional sciences at the University of Manitoba.
The award is based on outstanding contribution to research in nutrition within the preceding five years. Previous winners of this award have become international leaders in the field of nutritional sciences.
Dr Moghadasian is a principal investigator at the Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Health and Medicine (CCARM) at the St Boniface Hospital Research Centre where his laboratory is located. His areas of specialization include lipoprotein metabolism and atherosclerosis. He is also involved in the study of diet, coronary artery disease and diet-drug interaction.
