Ontario government to ban untreated hazardous waste

Guelph, ON – The Ontario government says it is cracking down on the dumping of untreated hazardous waste with new regulations.

The proposed regulation will require hazardous waste – including corrosive manufacturing waste and toxic sludges containing heavy metals – to be treated. All toxic pollutants will be neutralized, immobilized or eliminated before disposal.
