Sanofi Pasteur announces $30M capital expansion at its Toronto manufacturing site (September 22, 2006)


Toronto, ON – Vaccine developer and manufacturer, Sanofi Pasteur, has announced a $30-million capital expansion project underway at its Canadian global manufacturing site in north Toronto. The investment is focused on expanding the company’s global position in acellular pertussis and polio vaccine manufacturing by significantly increasing the manufacturing capability for these products.

On site to celebrate the capital expansion this week was Ontario premier and minister of research and innovation Dalton McGuinty and Mark Lievonen, president, Sanofi Pasteur.

The Connaught Campus has a mandate for the global production of acellular pertussis and polio vaccines for the company. With this expansion the company says it will be able to ensure a continued security of worldwide supply. Over 1,100 employees research, develop, manufacture and market vaccines to Canada and the world from the campus.
