Stunning flower image wins grand prize in FEI photo contest

Hillsboro, OR – FEI has announced the winner of its 2013 image contest: Marcos Rosado of the electron microscopy division of the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), Spain, for his ‘Acacia Dealbata Flower’ image.

“The 2013 FEI Image Contest has brought in some amazing examples of microscopy skill, research and creativity,” said John Williams, FEI’s vice president of strategic marketing. “Many of the images have been featured on numerous media outlets, including NBC News and The Huffington Post. We would like to congratulate Marcos Rosado on winning this year’s contest for his stunning flower image.”

More than 300 images were submitted to the contest. Many of the contest entries will also be featured in promotional material for the new film, ‘Mysteries of the Unseen World.’

FEI has also launched its 2014 Image Contest for FEI instrument owners, which begins February 3, 2014. Image categories for the contest include: The Natural World, The Human Body, and Around the House. The contest accepts entries through to the end of the year.
