A new kit has been developed for the efficient generation of human oligodendrocyte populations from neural progenitors. The kit contains 500,000 characterized human oligodendrocyte progenitor cells and complete expansion and differentiation media that allow researchers to easily and efficiently generate terminally differentiated oligodendrocytes in two to three weeks. Each manufactured lot of progenitor cells is guaranteed to be greater than 70% positive for the relevant stem cell markers Gal C and Sox10, which, along with the kit’s validated medium and protocol, enables the generation of a high percentage of differentiated oligodendrocytes.
