The application, called LIMS-plus DNA, also automates the delivery of DNA profiles to local, provincial, and national databanks. It uses a modern, browser-based architecture, which requires no locally installed software and is designed to integrate with other applications and instruments.
The application was designed by forensic scientists in consultation with current customers, allowing for modifications in analysis flow when needed. Each laboratory can establish mandatory tasks and conditions based on its own validated procedures. Using the software’s dynamic user interface, the system administrator can add additional data elements.
