Most technologies that are available to scan genomes of agricultural species at high-resolution have been designed for diploids. That’s the reason Affymetrix has launched the Axiom Strawberry Genotyping Array—also known as the International Strawberry 90K SNP array or IStraw 90. It enables high-resolution genotyping of the octoploid strawberry genome using the same technology that has already been applied to complex genomes such as maize, rose, wheat trout and salmon. The 90,000 SNP array enables complex trait research and sets the stage for multi-trait, marker-assisted breeding of the garden strawberry. Affymetrix Inc.
