Measuring viscosity early in the development of biological formulas can reduce the number of candidate failures during subsequent stages of development. Malvern Instruments’ Viscosizer 200 has been engineered to meet this requirement, which demands automated measurement on extremely low-sample volumes —less than 10 µl—as well as operation at high sample concentrations under formulation conditions. The temperature-controlled unit measures viscosity from 0.9 cP to 120 cP and hydrodynamic radius from 0.2 nm to 100 nm, in samples at concentrations from 0.1 mg/ml to >300 mg/ml. Suitable for solving key analytical challenges at the preformulation stage of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical development. Malvern Instruments Inc.
