Fluorescence-based life sciences applications often require 594 nm lasers—a wavelength only available from low-power HeNe lasers or diode-pumped solid state lasers using complex frequency mixing schemes. Coherent’s series of Sapphire 594 lasers provides an alternative. They are suitable for exciting established red fluorescence fluorophores as well as new fluorophores like mFruit dyes. Measuring 125 mm x 70 mm x 34 mm, they are equipped with USB, RS-232 and analog interface ports, and are available with either free-space or fibre-pigtailed output.
