Long-pulsed LEDs offer many wavelengths

Plug-and-play LED sources that measure lifetimes from microseconds to seconds make phosphorescence measurements routine. Horiba Scientific’s new SpectraLEDs are long-pulsed LEDs that offer many wavelengths from deep UV to NIR. They provide repetition rates from 0.1 Hz to >2.5 Hz, have software-controlled pulse duration and no afterglow, permitting easy interpretation of microsecond lifetimes compared. They also include built-in adjustable aspheric collection optics and bayonet mounting. The software automatically adjusts the repetition rate and can be used to program the pulse width to optimize signal for the sample.
