Mass spectrometer identifies, characterizes biomolecule structures

The only way to locate double bonds in compounds containing fatty acids without derivation is through high-energy CID. Designed for identification and structural characterization of biomolecules, Shimadzu’s Maldi-7090 Maldi TOF-TOF mass spectrometer offers 20 keV high-energy CID capacity, which enables the production of additional fragment ions to further enhance characterization. The mass spectrometer also incorporates axial spatial distribution focusing and solid-state laser technology with true 2 kHz acquisition speed in all modes—MS and MS/MS. An integrated 10-plate loader and newly designed Maldi Solutions software are included. Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc.
