When placed on ventilators, small animals can suffer from typical barotrauma. Pressure monitoring features an analog output of the ventilation pressure signal allowing researchers to collect system pressure and make corrections to optimize ventilation of their animals. Pressure limiting protects animal lungs by allowing researchers to set a system pressure limit.
