Pressure manager protects animal lungs from barotrauma

When placed on ventilators, small animals can suffer from typical barotrauma. The Pressure Monitor & Limiter from Harvard Apparatus-Hugo Sachs is a suitable peripheral to protect rodent lungs from this type of tissue damage caused by mechanical ventilation. Pressure monitoring features an analog output of the ventilation pressure signal allowing researchers to collect system pressure and make corrections to optimize ventilation of their animals. Pressure limiting protects animal lungs by allowing researchers to set a system pressure limit. Any condition that causes the pressure to exceed that limit causes the valve to open and the excess pressure to be exhausted. Harvard Apparatus
