Slide and cassette printers can now be used as network printers

Signature slide and cassette printers print directly onto glass microscope slides and tissue cassettes in pathology labs. Until now, a USB-connected PC needed to be included with each printer in order to initiate and manage print jobs.

The new PTNet Print Server allows the slide and tissue cassette printers to transform into shared network resources in just two quick steps: (1) install printers in the most ergonomic and convenient locations, (2) connect the compact PTNet Print Server to the printer via USB and to a wired Ethernet network port. Any PC on the network can then send print jobs to the printers. Alternatively, when using PTNet Print Servers with Primera’s PTLab SE or PE Software, multiple printers can be addressed throughout the network from a single PC.

The print servers are compatible with a wide range of Windows-based applications including many of the most popular laboratory information system software packages. They also help to make labs more efficient by saving space by eliminating unnecessary PCs and allowing lab techs to more easily share a printer with their co-workers. Primera Technology
