Off-the-shelf UV optical components are often unavailable or do not have specifications suitable to the application, which can affect throughput, resolution and spectral range. Resolve Optics recently supplied a high-performance, eight-channel optical module for Specialised Imaging’s SIM framing camera, which makes it possible to undertake UV imaging experiments at ultra high-speed. The new UV optical module and UV ICCD allows the camera to operate in the 230 nm to 400 nm so scientists can examine phenomena that emit ultraviolet radiation during the initial phase, such as corona from a pre-steamer in electrical discharge studies.
